MICHAEL SWEELEY BORN:DEC.10,1844 IN LASALLE, ILLINOIS DIED:AUG.27,1933 FOUGHT IN THE CIVIL WAR ILLINOIS 139 INFANTRY UNIT. PIONEERED FROM ILLINOIS TO EXETER, NEBRASKA. WHERE MICHAEL AND HIS WIFE MARGARET DRUMMOND FARMED. FATHERED 8 CHILDREN. THREE DAUGHTERS DIED 1882 FROM TYPHOID. THEN 1888 HE LOST HIS SON JOSEPH AT FIVE YEARS OLD. MARGARET AND MICHAEL MOVED FROM EXETER AT THIS TIME TO CLAY COUNTY .
