Douglas lettered for the Nebraska Huskers and head coach Dana X. Bible from 1934 through ’36, winning a Big Six championship his senior season when NU shut out all five conference opponents. In addition to being part of the legendary Husker backfield that included Sam Francis, Lloyd Cardwell and John Howell, he was a standout on defense and punted.
Douglas was inducted into the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame in 1995.
