Reubon was born on 06 Apr 1833 in Lower Merion Twp., Montgomery County, PA. He was the third of five children born to George Marker and Sara Grant. Reubon married Louisa Blair about 1856 in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

He was the father of nine children: Mary E. (Wallace L) Payne, Sarah Jane (Alexander) Lynn, Addie Mae (1st Addison Wood, 2nd James Bates), John William (Marion Harrison), Dora F (1st ? Porter, 2nd James Bates), Esther (Henry) Witzel, James Grant (Cora Ruggles), Augusta (1st Frank Gray, 2nd Samuel Taylor), and Harry E. (Barbara Lenz).

Reuben and Louisa lived in Ogle County, Illinois until 1878, then lived in Floyd County, Iowa until 1887 when they moved to Dawes County, Nebraska where Reubon died on 19 May 1911.
